Inspired on a walk in the Smoky Mountains, this staff was created with found natural objects and with stylized adornments. Referencing the traditions of the Native American tribes which historically called the region home, while remaining somewhat culturally ambivalent, the adornments include leather hide, pheasant feathers, coarse stone beads, and dried brush, suggesting an attitude of coexistence rather than a domestication of nature.
